Dear Sauer & Tröger Family,
more and more regularly, the sun shows up again in Germany. In most places you can also sit outside in a café or in a restaurant and have a good time.
Real spirit of optimism, which we feel very clearly also in the table tennis area. Many halls open again and it seems to start again slowly outside the plate in the garden or in the basement.
We are again receiving more inquiries about table tennis topics and orders. It’s the same with our dealers. Hopefully your association has maintained contact with you in various ways. Many clubs known to us have solved this very well in recent months, so that you do not forget that you are actually registered in the table tennis club …
In our opinion, the next few months can also be a good time to inspire hobby players and lateral entrants for the TT sport. An incredible number of people will reorient themselves in their free time and look for new fields of activity with which they can use their time sensibly.
For example, the table tennis Bundesliga club Borussia Düsseldorf is participating in a very large campaign with “Düsseldorf plays table tennis”, in which table tennis is promoted as a popular sport. Mayor Keller has changed a few balls in the park with Timo Boll.
But how do you get back on track after a long break?
At this point we would like to give you a few practical hints on how the restart can succeed well:
- Especially if you have not played for months, it is helpful to perform movement sequences “dry”. Make a few typical movements just at home without a table and ball to get your body used to it again.
- Prepare your body for movement again, regardless of table tennis. This can be done, for example, with strengthening exercises on a mat.
- Start with slow movements during your first training session. Even if the temptation is great: the first played topspin should not be played as hard as you can.
- The first training sessions should include a rather long recording time. Techniques need to be re-consolidated and automated. It makes little sense to enter a training match after just 10 minutes.
If you take these hints to heart, then even after a long training break the restart should succeed.
We wish you a good start!
