Table tennis meets racing

Sauer & Tröger table tennis long pimples racing Hockenheimring

Dear Sauer & Tröger family,

As a pimples player and Sauer & Tröger follower, you are already used to the fact that we always do things a little differently than all other table tennis brands. We attract attention, try to be cooler, come up with innovative marketing campaigns and always provide one or the other eye-catcher.

This was also the case this weekend at the Hockenheimring, where we got to know the meaning of “rubber” in a completely different way. This time not in the form of a nub on the table tennis bat, but in

Shape of slicks on the Mercedes AMG GT3 from Winward Racing.

It was on this very car that we were represented with our logo in the Fanatec GT World World Challenge powered by AWS racing series. This was made possible by the former Ferrari World and European Champion Jens Liebhauser, who not only drives for Winward Racing, but also takes part in the table tennis team competition at the TTC Oberacker in Baden-Württemberg with the pimple rubbers from Sauer & Tröger.

The team was completed by 19-year-old Lorenzo Ferrari and Mercedes works driver Lucas Auer, who also competes in the DTM. A weekend full of action ended with a 5th place in the gold class. The Sauer & Tröger logo literally glowed after the race.

During the race we also discovered some similarities between racing and the sport of table tennis:

  1. It depends on fitness, responsiveness and sensitivity
  2. It's a very fast sport where you have to make a decision in a fraction of a second.
  3. As with table tennis, the nature of the rubber plays a very special role
  4. It's better if you don't drive or play the car or the ball out of bounds ;)

In any case, it was a great experience for us to experience “table tennis meets racing” live from the paddock and to get a deep insight into racing. We wish Team Winward all the best for the last races of the season in Valencia and Barcelona!

Have you ever been up close and personal in a car race? Let us know in the comments! We have collected some pictures for you that will take you a bit behind the scenes.

Otherwise, we wish you a great start to the season!
